Our investment in Cyberwave: AI for the physical world
October 8th, 2025

At United Ventures, we believe the next frontier of automation will be defined not only by intelligent machines but by the software that enables them to think, act, and collaborate in the real world. That vision comes to life in Cyberwave, a company building the operating layer between AI agents and physical machines, a bridge between intelligence and action.
Today, we’re proud to announce that United Ventures is leading Cyberwave’s €7 million funding round, alongside The TechShop, Vento, Pi Campus, and several prominent angel investors.
A new operating layer for robotics
Cyberwave’s mission is simple yet transformative: make advanced automation frictionless. The company is developing a platform that connects robots, AI models, and enterprise systems, enabling industrial robots to form an interconnected, flexible workforce. By reducing the complexity and cost of integrating robotic systems, Cyberwave allows manufacturers of all sizes to deploy automation faster and smarter.
At its core, Cyberwave’s technology unifies diverse hardware under a single orchestration and AI control layer, cutting development timelines from months to weeks. This means that a project that once required extensive custom coding can now scale rapidly across robot types and production tasks — a fundamental shift for industries where time-to-value directly impacts ROI.
As declared by the founders in their manifesto:
“For years, we’ve watched AI get smarter — reasoning, planning, understanding context with uncanny precision. But there’s been a wall: a hard edge where intelligence stops and the physical world begins.
Cyberwave exists to break down that wall. We’re building the bridge that lets developers move machines with the same confidence they deploy web services.”
That vision — making the physical world programmable — perfectly captures what we see as one of the defining opportunities of this decade.
The Founders: product vision meets deep technical execution
At the heart of Cyberwave are Simone Di Somma and Vittorio Banfi, two founders who bring together deep technical expertise, product vision, and a shared obsession with turning ambitious ideas into a scalable reality.
Simone, a Y Combinator alumnus, previously founded Askdata, a startup that enabled users to interact with data through natural language and was later acquired by SAP. He knows what it means to build from first demo to enterprise adoption and to navigate the whole journey from concept to impact. Vittorio, meanwhile, founded Botsociety, a platform for designing conversational experiences, which was acquired by a major tech company. Simone and Vittorio first met in San Francisco years ago — different backgrounds, but a common drive: to give builders superpowers and make intelligent automation accessible, safe, and useful.
Today, they are building Cyberwave from three global hubs that reflect the company’s DNA.
From Milan, the heart of European manufacturing excellence, they stay close to machine builders and operators, the people who stress-test automation against cost, safety, and uptime. In Zurich, they draw from a deep culture of robotics precision and engineering rigor. And in San Francisco, they connect to the world’s fastest-moving AI ecosystem, bringing velocity and ambition to their mission.
It’s a blend that embodies Cyberwave’s spirit, grounded in real-world industry, driven by technology, and inspired by global vision.
Riding the next industrial wave
The timing could not be better. The global robotics market is projected to exceed $73 billion by 2029, driven by advancements in AI, computer vision, and machine learning. As industries embrace automation to address labor shortages and efficiency demands, the ability to orchestrate robots seamlessly, rather than integrate them manually, will become a decisive advantage.
Cyberwave is a first mover in Europe’s emerging robotics integration and orchestration market, already validating its technology through early pilots in manufacturing, logistics, and inspection. Its modular architecture, adaptive AI controllers, and plug-and-play integration capabilities provide a clear time-to-value advantage that traditional system integrators cannot easily replicate.
Why we’re excited
For United Ventures, Cyberwave represents the essence of what we look for in an investment: a visionary team with proven entrepreneurial DNA, a massive and fast-growing market ripe for disruption, and a product-based approach that brings scalability to a traditionally service-heavy industry.
Cyberwave’s platform has the potential to become the infrastructure backbone for AI-powered automation in Europe — a category-defining opportunity at the intersection of software, AI, and robotics.
We’re thrilled to partner with Simone, Vittorio, and the entire Cyberwave team as they bring frictionless automation to life.
