October 16th, 2024

Please meet our latest investment: Stema! This Brescia-based startup has successfully raised €1.6 million, led by United Ventures through our UV III and UV III Lombardia funds. Eden Ventures, Club degli Investitori, and Octopus Ventures also joined in this funding round.

Stema is pioneering an innovative AI-powered platform designed to automate STEM recruitment. Founded by a team with deep expertise in HR technology and digital solutions, Stema aims to become Europe’s leading recruitment platform for skilled professionals, addressing a significant market opportunity estimated at €37 billion. We look forward to supporting Stema’s vision to transform the connection between STEM talent and companies in the AI era.

Enhancing STEM Recruitment Through AI

In today’s economy, accessing top STEM talent is more critical—and challenging—than ever. While the demand for skilled engineers and technical professionals is at an all-time high, traditional recruiting methods often fail to connect companies with the best candidates efficiently. This inefficiency can lead to hiring delays and mismatches, undermining productivity and innovation.

Stema tackles this talent challenge with its AI-driven platform that automates STEM recruitment. Acting as a “career copilot,” Stema engages engineers through tailored conversations to assess their skills, goals, and interests. Using advanced algorithms, Stema continuously analyzes industry trends and in-demand roles to surface highly targeted opportunities.

For job seekers, Stema offers personalized attention and guidance typically reserved for C-level executives. Engineers gain the autonomy to explore the job market and identify companies where they can thrive long-term. Meanwhile, employers benefit from deeper insights into candidates, ensuring stronger job-person fits and enhanced retention rates.

Stema’s community-focused approach has already established a vibrant network in Italy, attracting over 300 new users daily. The startup has recently partnered with 15 major technical employers, addressing the pressing need for a modernized recruitment infrastructure.

Most importantly, Stema is led by a robust founding team with complementary skills and experiences. Serial entrepreneur Vito Lomele, known for founding and scaling innovative companies like Fiscozen and Jobrapido, is a key player. CEO Davide Bodini brings extensive human resources and recruiting expertise, while CTO Matteo Gambera specializes in automation engineering. Together, they possess the ideal blend of technical, product, and industry knowledge to transform STEM recruiting through AI.

We believe the recruitment industry is at an inflection point where talent and opportunity must connect in new, innovative ways. Stema stands out for its laser focus on STEM profiles and community-based model. With its exceptional team and vertical focus, it has the potential for a significant competitive advantage in HR tech.

Going forward, Stema will utilize its funding to enhance its AI platform further, expand its team, and establish market leadership across Europe. By empowering millions of technical professionals to pursue careers aligned with their skills and aspirations, Stema aims to drive business innovation and bolster the continent’s global competitiveness.
