Elena Di Maio
Principal, Early Stage
Elena joined United Ventures in 2023 to support fundraising and investor relations, before expanding her role to work closely with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives including M&A and business development.
Today, she is Principal on the Early Stage Team, where she oversees the investment process across early-stage opportunities, from sourcing and evaluation to execution and portfolio support. Her portfolio work includes IdentifAI, Stema, and Akamas.
Elena is known for her clarity of thought, strong work ethic, and ability to act as a thoughtful sparring partner to founders as they navigate strategic decisions and company-building challenges.
Before joining United Ventures, Elena worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where she gained extensive experience in strategic planning and large-scale transformation projects. She worked across sectors including Energy, Industrial Goods, Travel & Tourism, and Healthcare, with a particular focus on the latter.
Elena holds a Double MSc Degree in International Management from Bocconi University in Milan and Fudan University in Shanghai, where she deepened her understanding of international business and strengthened her Chinese language skills, which she has studied extensively.
An adventurer at heart, Elena enjoys pushing her limits through indoor and mountain climbing. She also explores her creative side through writing.
