Over 20 years of experience in technology and innovation.
Prior to co-founding United Ventures, Massimiliano held senior positions in product management and business development in several media companies.
Having soon realized the disruptive potential of search engines, he took part to the launch of Altavista in Italy, started Google Italy as founding country manager in 2002 and later took over the management of Google Spain and Portugal. He left Google in 2009 to found Annapurna Ventures, a new generation of technology early stage fund. In 2013 Annapurna merged with Jupiter Ventures, and here’s where United Ventures’ story begins.
He is also Independent Member of the Board of Directors of OVS SpA and member of the IIT (Italian Institute of Technology) Participation Committee. Massimiliano is the Author of the book “Fuori dal gregge”, essay on innovation, economic growth and social inclusion.
He is an avid cyclist, completing 7k km a year.
Task Force on startups
Took part on the Task Force on startups established by the Minister of Economic Development that lead to the drawing up of the report on Venture Capital in Italy.
MSc in Political Science
Holds a Master of Science in Political Science from the University of Bologna and attended and executive program at HBS in Venture Capital and PE.
