Domenico Di Mola is Venture Partner at United Ventures, where he brings decades of global experience at the intersection of deep tech, telecom, and cloud infrastructure. With a strong technical background and a passion for innovation, he supports founders as both a strategic advisor and technical sounding board.
After earning his Master’s and completing postdoctoral work in Telecommunications and Quantum Optics at the Polytechnic of Turin, Domenico began his career at Italtel. He later worked with Lucent Bell Labs on transferring advanced optical technologies to Europe. Over the years, he has held executive roles in the fiber optics industry and co-founded a startup that was later acquired by Agilent Technologies.
Domenico is the author of 11 patents and has contributed to several industry-defining innovations, including the world’s first 100G Coherent Dual Polarization QPSK Transponder — a breakthrough that helped shape modern optical networks. He is a regular speaker at leading conferences and sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for the U.S. Center on Quantum Networking. Since 2013, he has served as Group Vice President at Juniper Networks, leading cloud and AI infrastructure strategy within the AI-Driven Enterprise business unit.
Based in Silicon Valley, Domenico enjoys the multicultural energy of the region, as well as biking, tennis, and traveling in his free time.
